Jamal Crawford Names A Dark Horse In The Western Conference

The Phoenix Suns look like a team that’s finally starting to click, and that’s terrible news for the rest of the league.

It definitely took them longer than most people expected, and they did struggle to stay healthy.

But now, Frank Vogel’s team is finally firing on all cylinders.

On top of that, they have three guys who could legitimately take over late in a game, not to mention the fact that Kevin Durant continues to play mistake-free basketball more often than not.

That’s why former NBA guard Jamal Crawford believes the Suns are a legitimate dark horse in the Western Conference.

That might not be the hottest take, as they do have a plethora of talent on their roster.

Nonetheless, talking on NBA on TNT, Crawford explained that what makes this team so dangerous is the fact that they actually have three closers.

“If you’re a team that has one closer, that’s a luxury. Phoenix has three closers. … Once they get it together, I still think they’re a dark horse in the West,” Crawford said.

Bradley Beal’s arrival in the desert made this team the biggest candidate to go the distance in the West, so calling them a dark horse could be a bit of a reach.

Still, with the way they struggled to be at their best early in the season, some people were quick to dismiss them and state that they weren’t ready to compete at the highest level.

Fast forward to today, and they’re back to being the team no one wants to come across in a seven-game series.

The Suns have improved to 32-22 and are currently No. 5 in the West, but they could get on a run and secure homecourt advantage in at least one postseason series.
