The stage is set for what could be a very entertaining NBA Finals, with the Dallas Mavericks making easy work of the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference to advance to the next round to take on the Boston Celtics, who cruised through the Eastern Conference to reach the Finals for the second time in three years.
Although the Celtics are currently considered the favorite to win the Finals and raise an NBA-record 18th championship banner in the rafters at TD Garden, Boston will have a tough challenge ahead against a resilient Mavericks team led by arguably the best player in the league, Luka Doncic.
Even though Doncic is starting to get the distinction of being the best player in the league, dethroning Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets, Jayson Tatum leads the way in an important category heading into the Finals.
According to StatMuse, Tatum leads these playoffs in free-throw attempts per game with 7.9, which barely edges out Doncic.

7.3 — Luka
5.2 — Brown
3.8 — Kyrie pic.twitter.com/LgECrWzV9Z

This should be an interesting seven-game series for several reasons, with Tatum and Doncic going head-to-head and battling it out to lead their team to championship glory.
With both superstars being elite offensive players, it’ll be interesting to see which player makes the most trips to the charity stripe and if it becomes the difference in the series.
As of right now, the Mavericks are arguably the better offensive team, with the duo of Kyrie Irving and Doncic leading the way, while the Celtics are the better team defensively, with something having to give during the Finals.
