The Denver Broncos are one of the most prestigious franchises in the NFL, with a history of winning, with some superstar quarterbacks leading the way over the years.
No quarterback in the history of the Broncos is more revered or popular than John Elway, as he’s been part of the franchise since being drafted by the team as the No. 1 overall pick in the 1983 NFL Draft.
Despite being a legend and the face of the Broncos for many years, the franchise and the two-time Super Bowl champion recently parted ways leaving the future uncertain for the 62-year-old NFL icon.
Although his time with the Broncos may be over, Elway has one more thing he wants to cross off his bucket list, as he admitted to Woody Paige of The Denver Gazette.
“I still would like to be in a cowboy movie, but I’m a bit old,’’ he said. John was nicknamed The Duke of Denver after famed actor John Wayne, who also was called “The Duke’’.
Starting an acting career at 62 is bold.
However, it doesn’t seem like Elway wants to be the next John Wayne or Clint Eastwood, as he wants a shot at being in a cowboy movie.
With Elway being a recognizable face and celebrity, it’s not beyond the realm of possibility that some director becomes aware of this and allows the Hall of Famer to live out his dream of being on the big screen.
Maybe even a cameo on the hit show Yellowstone would suffice, but who knows what’s in store for Elway moving forward.
