Once again, the Green Bay Packers appear to have a young franchise quarterback after their previous one left to join the New York Jets.
It happened in 2008, when Brett Favre came out of retirement and was miffed when told he would have to compete for the QB1 spot, and right after he left, Aaron Rodgers became a star.
Now, Jordan Love had an excellent close to the 2023 season, and although the Packers blew a late lead and lost to the San Francisco 49ers in the divisional round of the playoffs, the future looks bright for them.
Love said on “Up & Adams” that Rodgers’ advice to him this postseason was to not throw an interception on his first career playoff pass, as Rodgers did back in the day, per CheeseheadTV.

Rodgers’ first playoff game came during the 2009 season versus the Arizona Cardinals, which the Packers lost, 51-45, and while Rodgers threw an interception just four seconds into the contest, he finished with four touchdown passes.
But the very next season, he led Green Bay to a Super Bowl championship over the Pittsburgh Steelers to put his name alongside Favre and Bart Starr in franchise lore.
Love got off to a rocky start this season after Rodgers left, but he heated up down the stretch and led Green Bay to a 9-8 record and an unexpected playoff berth.
Not only did he not throw a pick on his first postseason pass, but he threw no picks while going 16 of 21 for 272 yards and three touchdowns in the Packers’ 48-32 dismantling of the Dallas Cowboys.
Love couldn’t come through against the 49ers, but all of a sudden, the Packers have a bright future thanks to his emergence.
