The Boston Celtics have waltzed through the 2024 NBA Playoffs as they’ve advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals with relative ease.
Boston got a favorable draw in the standings as the No. 1 seed as they got a Miami Heat squad that was without Jimmy Butler and later drew the Cleveland Cavaliers who had Jarrett Allen and Donovan Mitchell miss games.
The Celtics now await the winner of the series between the New York Knicks and Indiana Pacers, though whoever emerges will undoubtedly struggle to win against a well-rested Boston team.
Head coach Joe Mazzulla has no doubt been using the downtime to prepare for either opponent, giving the Celtics another advantage in the next round.
Mazzulla was able to reshape the team in his image over the offseason as they play a more modern offensive style without dropping off on the defensive end.
Jrue Holiday has taken his head coach’s teaching and preparation style in stride and called it ‘controlled madness.”
“He’s crazy,” Holiday said. If anybody knows Joey I know he’s crazy and that’s pretty much it. But I think it’s maybe controlled madness. It’s definitely he’s way of preparing us and I feel like preparing himself and I think it’s been working.”

Mazzulla’s got a reputation for being a bit of an oddball, but there’s no denying the results as he’s got Boston looking like the clear title favorite.
Holiday and company have reaped the benefits of their coach’s methodical coaching habits and it’ll be interesting to see how they fare once the Eastern Conference Finals begin.
