A couple of days ago, the NBA named it’s All-Rookie team for this season, and there weren’t many surprises there.

Victor Webmanyama and Chet Holmgren manned the frontcourt for the All-Rookie First Team, while the other three spots went to Charlotte Hornets forward Brandon Miller, the Golden State Warriors’ Brandin Podziemski and Miami Heat wing Jaime Jaquez Jr.

ESPN’s Kendrick Perkins, however, didn’t have Miller on his ballot for the first team, or even the second team, per NBACentral.

Although the Hornets struggled mightily and won just 21 games this season, Miller had a strong NBA debut by averaging 17.3 points while shooting 44.0 percent from the field and 37.3 percent from 3-point range.

His athleticism is considered outstanding, and he can comfortably play either forward spot.

While the Hornets are one of the worst teams in the NBA, they do have some intriguing talent moving forward.

Guard LaMelo Ball is injury-prone, but when healthy, he’s a legitimate star, and Miles Bridges gives them a frontcourt player who has had his own off-the-court legal troubles but is also a productive player.

In 69 games, Bridges averaged 21.0 points and 7.3 rebounds last season, while Ball put up 23.9 points and 8.0 assists in 22 contests.
