Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards has quickly risen in the league’s rankings.

He’s one of the new faces of the NBA, and as such, it’s not a surprise to see that Adidas didn’t hesitate to make him one of their signature athletes, giving him his very own sneaker line.

Notably, Edwards was asked which NBA star he wanted to see rocking his sneakers, and he admitted that, even though Kevin Durant wears Nike, he wanted to see him wear them in a game, not in practice or anything.

With that in mind, the Phoenix Suns star had a blunt and ruthless response on Twitter: He’s never going to put a big toe in Edwards’ signature shoe.

Won’t EVER see me put a big toe in them Mfers. https://t.co/6dxKV55QPi

Of course, he’s a Nike brand ambassador — and one of the main ones — so it’s not like he had a choice.

Then again, the fact that he took to Twitter to make it public and widely known was only more brutal and borderline hilarious.

Needless to say, this isn’t a diss to Edwards or a shot at him by any means.

Edwards already knew that Durant couldn’t rock his sneakers because of his huge deal with Nike, and chances are they’re actually friends or at least friendly acquaintances.

Durant has always had words of praise for some of his younger colleagues, and Edwards has earned the recognition of every single star in the game.

But from that to having them go out of their way to wear their sneakers, that’s a whole different story.
