Dawn Staley led her South Carolina Gamecocks to a huge victory over the weekend, winning the NCAA Tournament and completing a remarkable unbeaten season.
Now that it’s all over, many people are wondering what’s next for Staley.
Will she continue to coach in college or take on another job, perhaps one in the NBA?
Speaking on Monday’s “Undisputed,” Keyshawn Johnson said that the Charlotte Hornets should hire Staley to lead the team in the 2024-25 season.
.@keyshawn says Dawn Staley should be the Hornets next Head Coach:

Staley’s hiring would obviously be historic and it would make her the first female head coach in NBA history.
The fact that she is a woman of color would also be a powerful and important change for the league.
Beyond that, Staley has a proven track record and a brilliant basketball mind.
That is exactly what the Hornets need right now.
The team has been floundering for years, even with some promising young talent like LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller.
This season was another bad one for Charlotte but changes are on the way.
The team’s new ownership has committed to doing what it takes to make the Hornets successful.
When Steve Clifford announced that he was stepping down as head coach after this season, several names were listed as potential replacements but Staley was not one of them.
However, after South Carolina’s success this weekend, her name is now firmly in the conversation.
She would be a historic choice but also a very smart one and could help lead the team forward after years of coming up short.
Next year will be a season of change for the Hornets and Staley could make it a very exciting and possibly successful one.
