There was a moment when it looked like they wouldn’t make it, but the Golden State Warriors are likely headed to the NBA playoffs.

The team is currently the fifth seed in the West.

However, the entire conference is incredibly tight and things could change between now and next weekend when the postseason starts.

There is a chance the reigning champions will enter the playoffs as the sixth seed.

If that happens, they’ll face off against the Sacramento Kings.

Asked about that possibility following Friday night’s win, Klay Thompson said that a Warriors-Kings series would be “special” not only for the fans residing in California but also for the players who wouldn’t have to travel far.

Fans in that part of the country are having a wonderful year.

Not only did the Warriors win the NBA Finals last season, but the Kings have just had their greatest run in nearly two decades.

The Kings, led by new head coach Mike Brown (who was an assistant coach for the Warriors up until last season) have a new lease on life, wind in their sails, and a youthful energy that is downright infectious.

But do they have what it takes to stop the Warriors?

While no one will deny that the Warriors have had a very up-and-down 2022-23, they are still an unquestionable basketball dynasty and have so much postseason experience.

The team is filled with terrific NBA players and a coaching staff that knows how to fight through the playoffs.

Will their experience pay off?

Thompson and the legion of Warriors fans sure hope so.
