The Arizona Cardinals aren’t expected to be a driving force in the league by any means next season.
Kyler Murray is set to miss a big stretch of the campaign after suffering a major injury in 2022, and they should be in no rush to get him back on the field if things go south — as expected — early in the campaign.
Moreover, there have been countless stories, rumors, and narratives around Murray’s leadership — or lack thereof — work ethic, and character, even before he signed that huge contract extension.
That’s why the former No. 1 pick wants everyone to know that he’s willing to play ball and be coached by new HC Jonathan Gannon next season, but he also wants the rest of the organization to have some accountability if things go wrong, via ProFootballTalk.

The Cardinals reportedly included a “homework clause” in his new contract that required him to watch film every week.
Even fans studied his numbers and found a correlation between his play and whether there was an update or a Call of Duty event before his games.
But as much as has been talked about him, there’s simply no way to deny his talent and ability to produce at a high level.
Perhaps he and the Cardinals simply maxed out under Kliff Kingsbury; perhaps he didn’t have the weapons he needed to thrive; perhaps he was to blame.
Whatever the case, patience seems to be wearing off, and he has a lot of mouths to silence.
