LeBron James Opens Up After Making NBA History

LeBron James seems to be in the news regularly for the amount of NBA records he breaks.

He recently eclipsed the 39,000-point mark in the Los Angeles Lakers‘ latest win over the Utah Jazz.

After reaching this unprecedented milestone, James was asked about the accomplishment in an interview that was shared by reporter Daniel Starkand.

James seemed unable to grasp the magnitude of this achievement, saying, “I haven’t had an opportunity to really, I guess, wrap my head around what that means.”

LeBron still hasn’t processed being the first player to reach 39,000 points:

James has already broken the NBA record for career points.

Anything else he scores throughout the rest of his tenure is gravy on top of what has been a Hall of Fame career.

James is routinely touted as a top-three player in league history, if not the best of all time.

He doesn’t need to do anything more to add to his resume, but his play on a nightly basis, especially at his age, continues to impress.

James has helped lead the Lakers to a 9-6 record on the year.

This team could make a splash in the Western Conference, especially knowing that James and Anthony Davis are their two main stars.

If he keeps playing at this pace, he’ll likely eclipse 40,000+ career points by the end of the season, which will likely mean that the Lakers are in a great position for the playoffs.

While James is playing well now, his and the Lakers’ championship window is quickly closing.

Can they capitalize on the roster they have, resulting in great success?
