LeSean McCoy Makes A Bold Claim About Luka Doncic If He Wins The Title

The Dallas Mavericks are back in the NBA Finals for the first time in more than a decade.

This is the first time they’ve reached this stage without Dirk Nowitzki, and his heir apparent is more than ready to emulate what he did years ago.

Luka Doncic has been on a roll for most of the playoffs, and he’s been one of the best players in the league right out of the gate.

Doncic has entered multiple seasons as one of the odds-on favorites to win MVP, yet he hasn’t climbed all the way to the top just yet.

That’s why former NFL star LeSean McCoy believes he just needs to win an NBA championship to finally establish himself as the best player on Earth.

Talking on FOX’s Speak, McCoy made a case for all great players needing to win at least one title to be considered the best among the best.

Otherwise, the narrative around him is always kind of negative, in the sense that people question why they’re not able to get the job done.

Truth be told, this is the first time that Doncic has an elite sidekick and a solid supporting cast around him, and he’s made it to the final series of the season, so that speaks volumes about his talent and impact on the game.

Also, the ‘best player in the NBA’ discourse tends to change every year depending on who’s winning, with Stephen Curry, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nikola Jokic, and now Doncic taking turns over the past four years.
