Heading into the NBA bubble back in 2020 when the world was practically shut down, the Los Angeles Clippers were considered to be the best team in the league and had arguably the best chance of winning it all in Orlando, Florida.
Unfortunately for the Clippers, things didn’t work out that way, as the team ultimately collapsed in the NBA playoffs, paving the way for the Los Angeles Lakers to come out on top against the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals.
In retrospect, a lot of players from that time period have reflected on how everything went down and what should’ve happened if the league hadn’t been forced into a bubble for a few months to decide the outcome of the season that year.
On an appearance on “Run It Back,” Shams Charania of The Athletic asked Marcus Morris if the Clippers could have won it all if the team wasn’t forced into a bubble scenario on the other side of the country, and his answer is pretty definitive, via NBACentral.
“For sure,” Morris said. “Hands down. We were the best team, the most connected team top to bottom. … We were perfect, man.”

Obviously, this is hypothetical and something that will never be known, so virtually any team that was in contention that year can make this statement now.
Interestingly enough, the Clippers and Lakers were the only two teams that voted to end the bubble that year without crowning a champion, which is ironic considering LeBron James’ squad went on to win it all, and Kawhi Leonard and company supposedly had the best team.
