The Detroit Lions were one of a few unexpected success stories in the NFL last season.

After starting 1-6, they took eight of their last 10 games and came very close to snagging a playoff spot in the NFC.

Detroit’s passing offense was pretty potent, and it will become even more potent thanks to the addition of wide receiver Marvin Jones Jr., who previously played for them from 2016 to 2020.

He posted a hype video on his Twitter account to get Lions fans ready for next season.

The Lions were fifth in points and fourth in total yards in 2022, but they needed another legitimate playmaker at wide receiver in order to solidify their playoff hopes moving forward.

Jones should help, even if he isn’t quite what he used to be at age 33.

He had 529 yards and three touchdowns last year as a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars, and he helped them become a force late in the season while also overcoming a 27-0 halftime deficit in the Wild Card round against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Back in Detroit, Jones will help take some pressure off Amon-Ra St. Brown, who was their most productive receiver in 2022 with 1,161 yards and six touchdowns.

The NFC North may get a little weaker, which could open a window for Detroit to make the playoffs for the first time since 2016.

The Green Bay Packers are set to lose quarterback Aaron Rodgers, while the Minnesota Vikings have lost No. 2 wide receiver Adam Thielen.

Although the Chicago Bears have acquired wide receiver D.J. Moore and running back D’Onta Foreman, they aren’t exactly a lock to reach the postseason.
