The Texas Rangers have proven their desire to win this season after a hot start.
On Saturday, they made a big move to shore up their starting rotation, acquiring right-hander and former Cy Young Max Scherzer from the New York Mets in exchange for top prospect Luisangel Acuna, the younger brother of Ronald Acuna Jr.
Scherzer now joins Nathan Eovaldi at the top of the rotation.
He also reunites with former Mets teammate Jacob deGrom, though deGrom is out for the season.
But by joining deGrom, Scherzer finds himself in elite company.
According to Sarah Langs of MLB.com, Scherzer and deGrom are the ninth pair of multi-time Cy Young winners to pitch for the same team in the same year.

Scherzer and deGrom have accomplished this feat twice, having been teammates with the Mets last year.
The veteran right-hander is on the list three times.
In 2021, he was teammates with Clayton Kershaw on the Los Angeles Dodgers.
In 2008, Hall-of-Famer Pedro Martinez and left-hander Johan Santana were teammates with the Mets.
The previous three years, Martinez pitched alongside Tom Glavine.
From 1999-2002, Glavine and Greg Maddux pitched together for the Atlanta Braves.
Martinez appears on the list one more time, having been teammates with Bret Saberhagen in 2001 during his time with the Boston Red Sox.
The first pair of multi-time Cy Young winners to pitch together was Steve Carlton and Tom Seaver, who pitched together in 1986 with the Chicago White Sox.
Scherzer and deGrom have reunited.
And while deGrom is out for the season, Scherzer is set to lead the Rangers in October.
