The Carolina Panthers suffered an embarrassing 2023 NFL season where they only managed to win two games with rookie quarterback Bryce Young.
The Panthers were a mess offensively and it resulted in them firing former head coach Frank Reich, whom they replaced with Dave Canales.
Carolina doesn’t own their first-round pick because of last year’s blockbuster trade with the Chicago Bears but the team has been busy trying to give Young more protection and weapons in the passing game.
The Panthers brought in multiple starting guards via free agency and traded for former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson.
Better protection up front and a weapon like Johnson should help Young’s development, but the team could use more firepower in their receiver room.
With that in mind, the team is hosting Michael Gallup, who was previously released by the Dallas Cowboys, via Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
“As the #Panthers continue to look to add weapons, source says they are bringing in former #Cowboys WR Michael Gallup in for a visit next week,” Rapoport reported.

Gallup has struggled to regain his form since his ACL injury, but he’s a solid No. 2 or No. 3 receiver on the right team.
The Panthers need more vertical threats to help open up the short and intermediate areas of the field and Gallup could fill that role.
Carolina is also reportedly meeting with Mike Williams, who was cut by the Los Angeles Chargers, and he figures to be their preferred option assuming he can prove he’s fully healthy after suffering his own ACL tear last season.
