On Wednesday night, the Minnesota Timberwolves were taken down by the defending champion Denver Nuggets.
And once again, Nikola Jokic was a major part of the team’s victory, scoring 41 points, 11 rebounds, and 7 assists.
Following the game, Denver’s head coach Michael Malone spoke about this star player and just how special he is.
“Here in Denver, we know what we have. We have the best player in the world,” Malone said of Jokic.

No matter one’s opinion of the Nuggets, it’s hard to argue with Malone’s assessment.
The reigning Finals MVP is averaging 26.6 points, 12.4 rebounds, and 9 assists per game.
He is also shooting 58.1% from the field.
There haven’t been many big men like Jokic before, with his ability to both score and assist.
His on-court intelligence is off the charts and it feels like there are instances every game of him finding his teammates, sometimes in the most amazing ways.
Jokic can score, he can defend, and he can assist – he really does act like a one-man team.
He has been phenomenal for years but it was only last year that the team was really able to capitalize on all his talent and win the Finals.
That’s because Jokic, like all great NBA stars, needs strong support from his team to thrive.
The Nuggets are once again the top team in the Western Conference after Wednesday’s game, holding a 56-24 record.
In just a matter of days, the playoffs will begin and they will attempt to storm all the way to the championship again.
If they are going to win, it’ll be because of several stars on the roster.
But there is no doubt that Jokic will once again be a major part of their success.
