The Tampa Bay Buccaneers could be in trouble after the 2023 season.
Recent reports have surfaced about contract talks stalling with Mike Evans, a nine-year veteran of the organization.
With less than two weeks to go until the Buccaneers’ season opener, time is running out to get a deal done.
Evans’ agent has put a harsher time restriction on the team, according to Mike Garafolo.
Garafolo reported that Evans’ camp will stop negotiating the day before the season opener.

If a deal isn’t done before then, Evans’ status as a Buccaneer is in serious jeopardy.
Will the team work to reach an extension with the 30-year-old receiver?
That remains to be seen.
There are a few receivers of Evans’ caliber around the league, which could provide a potential roadmap for a possible contract.
DeAndre Hopkins, for instance, is due $13 million per season for the next two years.
While the details of Evans’ proposed extension haven’t been made public, he could be seeking similar numbers as Hopkins.
The Buccaneers have a lot of contracts to figure out in the next year, needing to allocate funds to their other top options.
Evans could be low on their organizational totem pole, resulting in a potential exit after this year, even though he’s been their best receiver.
He has achieved at least 1,000 yards in each of his nine seasons, hoping to keep that train moving.
For now, Evans appears focused and ready to contribute for the Buccaneers in his 10th NFL campaign.
Will it be his last for the Buccaneers?
