The Boston Red Sox came into the 2023 season with a ton of question marks surrounding their starting rotation.

They had lost Michael Wacha and Nathan Eovaldi in free agency, and Chris Sale and James Paxton were coming off of injury-plagued seasons.

But one pitcher has emerged as one of Boston’s most reliable starters.

24-year-old Brayan Bello has been on a tear as of late.

On Wednesday, he put together yet another strong outing, pitching seven innings and allowing just two runs on eight hits against the Texas Rangers.

He also earned his sixth win and lowered his ERA to 3.04.

On Twitter, Jordan Moore of The Athletic commented on how Bello may single-handedly be saving the Red Sox starting rotation.

Bello’s 3.04 ERA ranks sixth among qualified starters in the American League.

His dominant outing helped put the Red Sox back over the .500 mark.

Bello also struck out three Rangers hitters and didn’t walk a single batter.

But with the Red Sox starting rotation being a question mark at the beginning of the year, Bello has helped weather the storm and settle things down.

Nick Pivetta and Corey Kluber did not work out, but the Red Sox were lucky enough to have Bello ready within their system.

He has now turned into the team’s undisputed ace as the first half of the 2023 season draws to a close.

Bello made his Major League debut last season and provided the Red Sox with a glimpse into the future.

This year, Bello has become the frontline starter the Red Sox so desperately needed.
