For years, media and fans have complained that MLB doesn’t always do a great job marketing the game and, especially, their biggest stars.
You can also add the game’s top prospects to that list.
On Thursday, however, an interesting event will start, one that involves young talent across the league.
It’s called the Spring Breakout.
Front Office Sports explained the initiative.
“Today, MLB begins its first-ever Spring Breakout—a four-day series pitting top prospects against each other to better market the game’s future stars. 71 of MLB’s Top 100 prospects are playing, and five teams are sending all 10 of their franchise’s top prospects,” they tweeted.

Prospects will represent their own teams in the series that will be held from March 14-17, at Grapefruit and Cactus League stadiums.
There will be 16 games in total, and every squad will have some of the most exciting stars of tomorrow.
Jackson Holliday, Jackson Chourio, Paul Skenes, Junior Caminero, Dylan Crews, Ethan Salas, Colson Montgomery, Jordan Lawlar, James Wood, Marcelo Mayer, Peter Crow-Armstrong, Samuel Basallo, Cade Horton, Coby Mayo, Chase DeLauter and many more will be taking part, ready to show why they are considered elite prospects.
According to Jim Callis of MLB.com, all 16 games will be broadcast live on the league’s digital platforms, while MLB Network will air six of them.
