MLB Shows Every Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Home Run On His Way To The Title

The 2023 MLB Home Run Derby, which took place on Monday, was electric.

It featured long ball after long ball from eight of the most powerful hitters in the majors leagues.

Toronto Blue Jays star Vladimir Guerrero Jr. won it all thanks to 72 home runs in total, including 25 in the final round to beat Tampa Bay Rays star Randy Arozarena.

The league’s official Twitter account posted a clip with each and every one of his 72 round-trippers on Monday night.

An impressive display of power, it was.

Guerrero is more of a line-drive hitter than a fly-ball artist, but his liners are usually hit so hard that the ball travels anyway.

Fans could see it on Monday, when he hit screaming liner after screaming liner.

In the first round, he bested Los Angeles Dodgers star Mookie Betts, 26-11, to advance to the semifinals.

There, he met with local hero Julio Rodriguez, the rising star of the Seattle Mariners.

Guerrero surpassed J-Rod’s 20 with relative ease thanks to an extra minute he earned before, finishing the round with 21.

Arozarena had left behind fellow Cuban star Luis Robert Jr. in the semifinals and set up an exciting meeting with Guerrero in the finals.

The Jays first baseman ended up prevailing and took home the trophy with a 25-23 score in the last round.

Guerrero earned his first Home Run Derby win, after Juan Soto took the competition last year and Pete Alonso did it in 2021.

The All-Star Game will be played on Tuesday night at T-Mobile Park, in Seattle, and every team will return to their regular schedule on Friday.
