The NBA Play-in Tournament is well underway, with the Los Angeles Lakers and Atlanta Hawks now slated to play in the first round of the NBA playoffs, while the Miami Heat and Minnesota Timberwolves will play to save their season against opponents that are to be determined.
Perhaps the most shocking loss in the Play-in was the Heat falling to the Hawks, which few saw coming as Miami was expected to be playoff-bound again.
Following the Heat’s loss to the Hawks, star forward Jimmy Butler took the brunt of the blame as he’s the undisputed team leader and didn’t play well against Atlanta.
NBA Today host Justin Termine went all in on Butler for talking up a storm and not backing it up with his play on the basketball floor.
“Who else is sick of Jimmy Butler talking nonstop? .. Once again, Jimmy Butler talked, and Jimmy Butler didn’t show up to back it up.”

Fiery NBA veterans like Butler tend to talk a lot, as it can be part of their personality, especially when they have an old-school edge like the 33-year-old.
If the Heat are ultimately eliminated from playoff contention with another loss in the Play-in Tournament, the future in Miami may be uncertain for Butler and the rest of the squad as a rebuilding process could get underway.
It isn’t over yet for the Heat, as Butler and company can be a resilient team with a no-quit attitude, but drastic changes may be on the horizon if the team fails to live up to expectations.
Only time will tell if Erik Spoelstra’s squad can keep their playoff hopes alive and if they do advance if the team can compete with the best of the best in the Eastern Conference.
