It is the start of a new era for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as legendary quarterback Tom Brady has retired and is being replaced by the talented but mercurial Baker Mayfield.

The team still has some weapons, such as wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, but it will certainly have a different look and feel with Mayfield at the controls.

In an attempt to give him some added pass protection, the Bucs have signed guard Matt Feiler to a one-year contract, according to NFL insider Peter Schrager.

Feiler spent the last two seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers, and before that, he played his first four seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

He went undrafted out of Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, and after spending the 2014 season on the Houston Texans’ practice squad, he was on the Steelers’ practice squad for most of the next two seasons before finally getting onto the field for game action in the 2017 campaign.

Another position that will look different for Tampa Bay is running back.

Leonard Fournette, who spent the last three years with the team, was released earlier this offseason, and the team’s new starter will apparently be Rachaad White, who had 481 yards and a touchdown in 2022, his rookie season.

He will be backed up by Chase Edmonds, a five-year veteran who spent last season with the Miami Dolphins and Denver Broncos.

With some decent support around him, Mayfield will get one more chance to prove he can consistently be an impact signal-caller in the NFL next season.
