Nick Wright Believes Lamar Jackson Is The Best Option For 1 Team

Lamar Jackson is better than the average NFL quarterback.

He gives any team a chance to win, and NFL scouts seem to forget that he was an MVP winner not so long ago.

That’s why the fact that there’s been little-to-no interest in trading for him or signing him has been kind of suspicious.

No one seems to be willing to meet his asking price and conditions, and signing him would require sending multiple compensatory picks to the Baltimore Ravens.

However, Nick Wright believes there could be more traction after the NFL Draft.

With that in mind, Wright points out that Bill Belichick desperately needs to do better with the New England Patriots.

“Bill Belichick is 30 wins behind Don Shula. It doesn’t sound like that much, but if you win 6-7 games a year you need 5 yrs. If the Patriots aren’t good for 2 more years I don’t know if he gets to finish in New England. Lamar is the Patriots best option by far.” — @getnickwright pic.twitter.com/GLQYgSz5fO

Belichick is currently 30 wins behind legendary coach Don Shula for the most all-time, and Pats owner Robert Kraft hinted at the possibility of letting him go if they have a third straight bad season.

No disrespect to Mac Jones, but Jackson is a much better player, at least at this point in both of their careers.

So, if Belichick wants to break the record in New England — and most of us assume he does —  he shouldn’t hesitate to pull the plug and try to acquire the Louisville product.

Kraft hasn’t shut down the possibility of going for Lamar and claimed that the decision would ultimately be Belichick’s, but it doesn’t seem like there’s much to think about.
