The NFC South has changed significantly throughout the offseason.
Tom Brady left the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, leaving a massive hole behind at the quarterback position.
Each team in the division likely faces a quarterback change.
Derek Carr was signed by the New Orleans Saints, and the Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers are slated to roll out young starters.
With this in mind, Nick Wright recently indicated who he believes will be the top QB in the division.
In a segment of ‘First Take,’ Wright said, “Baker [Mayfield] might be the best quarterback in the division.”

Mayfield was signed by the Buccaneers to a one-year, $4 million deal during the offseason.
While he’s bounced around as of late, Mayfield put together a few solid performances for the Los Angeles Rams last season.
Wright recognized that Bryce Young could eventually be a good starter for the Panthers.
Given Mayfield’s experience for the 2023 season, Wright continued to give the nod to him.
When comparing the difference between Carr and Mayfield, Wright said, “The long history of a mid-tier quarterback to a new team usually doesn’t go well.”
He used this as a detriment to Carr, who will join the Saints after a long tenure with the Las Vegas Raiders.
With the NFL season less than a month away, NFL fans won’t have to wait long to see how Wright’s prediction will turn out.
Mayfield is now on his fourth NFL team.
