Timely hits have been a big issue for the St. Louis Cardinals early on in the 2023 season.
However, they were anything but that on Tuesday night as their offense went to work, helping them erase a 6-2 deficit.
Leading the way for the team was Nolan Arenado.
Back in his former ballpark, Coors Field, Arenado picked up a bases-clearing double in the top of the seventh to bring the Cardinals even with the Colorado Rockies.
Arenado went 2-for-4 with three RBI on Tuesday as the Cards pulled out a 9-6 victory.
After the game, Arenado spoke with Jim Hayes of Bally Sports Midwest to discuss what the win means for the Cardinals.
Arenado made his former team pay by keying the #stlcards‘ comeback.

Arenado first discussed the Cardinals’ recent struggles and how they haven’t been having the best at-bats with runners in scoring position.
The star third baseman praised Paul Goldschmidt for his patient at-bat in the seventh that resulted in a walk and ultimately gave him a chance to do damage.
Arenado said that he was able to lay off of a few tough sliders in order to stay alive in his at-bat.
He said he was looking for a fastball and ultimately got one right where he wanted it.
Arenado was then asked about Brendan Donovan‘s spectacular catch out in left field.
The slugger said that Donovan’s fantastic play energized the team and gave them a little bit of an extra push as they tried to pull away with a win.
The Cardinals finally were able to pick up some timely hits and come through in key spots.
