The Baltimore Orioles have arguably the best and deepest collection of young, talented position players in baseball.
Make no mistake, they also have some really solid young pitchers, but the strength of their farm system lies on its ability to spot, scout, draft, sign, and develop hitters.
In the last couple of years alone, young studs such as Adley Rutschman, Gunnar Henderson, Colton Cowser, Jordan Westburg, Jackson Holliday, and Heston Kjerstad have made their MLB debuts.
Now, it’s Connor Norby’s turn.
“News: The Baltimore Orioles are calling up infielder Connor Norby, sources tell ESPN. Norby, 23, is yet another young, talented infielder in Baltimore’s system and is hitting .286/.374/.510 with nine home runs and 36 RBIs at AAA. He’s in Toronto for Baltimore’s series there,” MLB insider Jeff Passan tweeted.

Norby is the latest position player prospect to be called up by the O’s.
While he is not as talented as, say, Rutschman and Holliday, Norby is a very good prospect in his own right.
Selected in the second round of the 2021 MLB Draft, Norby is a versatile player who can defend second base and the two outfield corners.
He can really hit, too, as he has a very productive .286/.374/.510 line in Triple-A this season, with nine home runs and seven stolen bases.
Norby does strike out a lot (30.7 percent strikeout rate in 238 plate appearances in Triple-A Norfolk), but he has power, speed, versatility, and the ability to take walks.
It’s still not known if he is up just for the Toronto series or if he will be given a chance to stick, but keep an eye on him.
He is good enough to run away with a starting gig.
