Paul Pierce thinks the Dallas Mavericks can “get it done” in their current series against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Mavericks already stole Game 1 in Minnesota and Pierce thinks they can keep winning.

In fact, on Friday’s “Undisputed,” he said that he thinks the Timberwolves will be eliminated after five games by Dallas.

He said the Mavericks have been looking like a much better team over the last few months since the trade deadline.

Their defense, while not the best in the league, is good enough to win the Finals, he claims.

More importantly, Pierce said that the team’s backcourt duo of Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving are a strong enough force that they can help this team go very far in the postseason.

He thinks that they will set the tempo and the rest of the team will follow their leadership.

The Mavericks have definitely gotten better for the last few months and Pierce is right when he says there isn’t a pair of players like Doncic and Irving.

But he’s also discounting the Timberwolves, who definitely have enough talent to come back and win.

They didn’t have a good opening game of the series and their lead player Anthony Edwards wasn’t his usual self.

But no one should count them out after just one game.

If they lose the second game in this series, alarm bells will be sounding loudly.

But if they can even the series, then fans will be much more relieved and certain that they can bounce back and make their way to the Finals.

Are the Timberwolves too young and the Mavericks too loaded?

Is this series over before it’s even really gotten started?

Pierce thinks so.
