The Boston Celtics had one of the most stacked lineups in the league in the late 2000s.
Some might argue that they — not LeBron James — started the ‘Superteam’ trend with Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, and Rajon Rondo.
Their battles with the Miami Heat’s Big 3 were some of the most memorable in recent Eastern Conference — and NBA — history, developing a heated rivalry that lives up to this day.
That’s why some Celtics fans and players have had such a tough time forgiving Allen for going from Boston to Miami, and that includes Pierce himself.
That became evident again when a fan urged The Truth to get the band together to root for the Celtics during Game 7, and Pierce responded that he didn’t know which team Allen would root for.

There has been plenty of back and forth about this subject.
Allen wasn’t invited to a team reunion, and they’ve taken multiple shots at each other throughout the years, although Garnett recently stated that they had buried the hatchet.
Allen helped both teams win an NBA championship, and he’s repeatedly stated that he wanted to be back in Boston, but the front office didn’t want him bad enough to make him a respectable offer to keep him in town.
The Celtics made it to back-to-back NBA Finals and were the last team to win a ring in franchise history, so some fans may have forgiven Allen for this so-called betrayal already.
Hopefully, Pierce can say the same thing one day somewhere down the line.
