Zion Williamson entered the NBA as one of the most discussed prospects in recent memory.
The New Orleans Pelicans were excited to move forward with this young star who was slated to turn the franchise around.
However, due to various on and off-court issues, Williamson’s career has been somewhat of a roller coaster thus far.
He has struggled to find his footing in the NBA and develop into the superstar that many expected due to health concerns.
Heading into year four, the Pelicans face another battle with Williamson.
In the Pelicans’ most recent preseason game, Williamson had just one shot attempt at halftime.
When asked about Williamson’s usage, head coach Willie Green said, “We have to get the ball in his hands,” per reporter Christian Clark.

While this was just a preseason game that holds no weight into their regular season standing, these comments concerned many fans.
If Williamson isn’t taking shots during the preseason, what does that mean about his usage moving forward?
In Green’s comments, he added, “Hadn’t put any sort of half-court sets in yet for him.”
Williamson came into the league as a player that could make some serious noise at the rim.
He was an explosive athlete, a player with the opportunity to make a difference in any given game.
If Green hasn’t installed any half-court sets for him at this point in the offseason, it might be difficult to get them installed for opening night.
Players need time to establish chemistry, something it appears the Pelicans are in desperate need of.
