This year’s NFL MVP race has been one for the ages, but not for the best reasons.

The usual suspects haven’t been at the top of the ladder for quite a while, and it seems like the best players in the league haven’t even been quarterbacks.

However, given that this has been a QB-centric award more often than not, we can already rule out the likes of Myles Garrett, Tyreek Hill, or Christian McCaffrey from the competition.

As of now, San Francisco 49ers star Brock Purdy seems like a lock to take home the award.

Nonetheless, no player has made a bigger impact in the game than Lamar Jackson, at least, according to Baltimore Ravens LB Roquan Smith.

Talking on Good Morning Football, Smith raved about how watching the film actually shows why Lamar should be the undisputed MVP.

“I’ve watched a lot of film this year, and I haven’t seen anyone that has the type of impact that Lamar has on the game…”@Ravens LB Roquan Smith on QB Lamar Jackson pic.twitter.com/SLTU3RXNmW

He claims that an MVP should be the player that if you were to take him away from his team, you’d see the said team struggling.

He also stated that Jackson makes everything different in the game because he can kill teams with his arm and his legs, so even if he’s not making the play, he’s actually a decoy.

Smith admitted that Jackson’s stats aren’t as impressive as other players, but he’s still the most valuable player on the team.

Truth be told, it’s crazy to see that Jackson isn’t getting more consideration for the award, as the Ravens are 11-3 and have the No. 1 seed in the AFC.

Then again, he still has three weeks to make his case.
