One of the perennial title contenders in the NBA that will be looking to make a big move over the summer is the Philadelphia 76ers, as the team wants to take advantage of this potential championship window it has with superstar Joel Embiid and rising star Tyrese Maxey.
The consensus seems to be that the 76ers will aggressively enter NBA free agency this summer, with a lot of money to spend and most of the roster becoming free agents who will likely not be retained by the team.
That said, some of the big-name players that will be available include sharpshooting guard Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors, who will have a big decision to make this summer on whether to leave the team that drafted him for a fresh start elsewhere.
The 76ers make a lot of sense for Thompson, and according to Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports via NBA Central, the team has him on a list of offseason targets.
“The Sixers, sources said, took note of Indiana’s two-year splurge for Bruce Brown that then became the biggest salary headed back to Toronto in exchange for Siakam. Veteran wings like Klay Thompson and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope would fall on the Sixers’ list of targets for similar one-plus-one contracts, sources said.”
The Philadelphia 76ers might consider offering Klay Thompson a 1+1 year deal similar to the one Bruce Brown received, per @JakeLFischer

With Thompson being beloved in the Bay Area and the Warriors wanting to retain him, this will be a tough call for the four-time NBA champion, as he could get some very lucrative offers from other teams like the 76ers.
It remains to be seen what Thompson plans to do and if he’ll entertain an offer from Philadelphia.
