Everyone is watching the New York Jets and their new quarterback Aaron Rodgers, waiting to see if they will succeed big-time or become a slow-motion train wreck.
There is the potential for both outcomes, and it seems like there may not be much of a middle ground for a team that has so much star power and such high expectations.
This past weekend, the Jets played a preseason game versus their MetLife Stadium co-tenants, the New York Giants, and Rodgers looked a lot like his vintage self, completing five of eight passes and throwing a touchdown strike to wide receiver Garrett Wilson.

Rich Eisen feels that there is lots of potential for Rodgers and Wilson to put together the chemistry and production that Rodgers had with Davante Adams while with the Green Bay Packers.

Adams has been arguably the league’s best wideout over the last few years, and he helped Rodgers win the league MVP award in 2020 and 2021 while helping the Packers become a Super Bowl contender both seasons.
But after Adams was traded prior to last season, the Packers failed to make the playoffs while Rodgers saw a drop in his production.
Some have speculated that perhaps the future Hall of Famer is now in decline at age 39, but perhaps his new surroundings will revitalize him, at least for a little while.
In addition to Wilson, the reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year, Rodgers will have one of the league’s best defenses, as well as four-time Pro Bowl running back Dalvin Cook by his side this year.
Expectations are very high in the Tri-state area, but the Jets appear to have the roster, at least on paper, that can meet those expectations.
