It’s a new era in Gotham City: Aaron Rodgers is a New York Jet, and they’ve officially put the rest of the league on notice.

Rodgers, however, claims he’s not there to be the franchise’s savior and shut down the narrative of them going all-in to win the whole thing next season.

That’s where Shannon Sharpe disagrees.

Aaron Rodgers: Jets Super Bowl III trophy “looking lonely”

“For me, it’s Super Bowl or bust. When you give up as much as the Jets did, it’s not good enough to go to the playoffs.” — @ShannonSharpe pic.twitter.com/N9YJKB33Vw

For the Pro Football Hall of Famer, it’s actually Super Bowl-or-bust time in New York with Rodgers in town, citing that they gave up too much to get him and will pay him too much money to be satisfied with just a trip to the playoffs.

Truth be told, Sharpe might as well be right.

The Jets’ ceiling without Rodgers was making the playoffs, and they were pretty close to pulling that off last season.

So, now that they’ve added one of the greatest players this game has ever seen, the aspirations are different, and the organization should be aiming higher.

The Jets have put together an elite defensive unit, and they have more than enough offensive weapons to put Rodgers in a position to succeed.

They might not achieve their ultimate goal in their first season like Matthew Stafford did with the Los Angeles Rams in 2021.

But Rodgers needs to make it to the Super Bowl with the Jets while he’s there, and anything short of that should, could, and will most likely be considered a massive failure by him and the organization once it’s all said and done.
