The NBA playoffs are underway, and that means one thing and one thing only: It’s celebrity time.
Every single time that the Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks reach this stage, it’s usual to see celebrities pack the sidelines at Crypto.com Arena and Madison Square Garden.
Needless to say, this year won’t be the exception to the rule, and the Knicks are going to have a very particular and special fan in attendance.
As told by himself on ESPN, Stephen A. Smith is going to be on the floor when the Knicks square off against the Philadelphia 76ers for Game 2 of their first-round series on Monday night (via New York Basketball).
“Guess where I’ll be Monday night? Game 2…I’m at the Garden baby! I’m at the Garden. I’m coming home to join y’all”

Smith is a bona fide and well-known Knicks fan, and he wants to show his support for his hometown team.
Of course, this has fueled a bit of a debate at times.
On the one hand, some fans resent the fact that Smith is openly rooting for one team, as he should be above that and be objective as a journalist and an analyst.
Then again, it’s not like he hasn’t also been overly critical of the Knicks and James Dolan in the past, and everybody’s entitled to root for one team.
The Knicks haven’t been this good in quite a while, and some believe they have a legitimate chance to go the distance and reach the Eastern Conference Finals or even the NBA Finals, so it’s only normal to see that their fans want to be a part of history.
