The Chicago Bulls were already in a complex position after the 2022-23 NBA season.

Added to all the rumors involving DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine, they also have a serious concern with Lonzo Ball.

The point guard has only played 35 games for the six-time NBA champions, and his return to the court is unclear.

So much so that the Chicago Bulls ‘privately believe’ that the former No. 2 overall pick will never play again, per Dan Bernstein.

Ball has undergone a series of surgeries in the past couple of seasons, and recently got a cartilage transplant, a procedure that could end his chances to return to the league.

The Bulls had high expectations when they managed to land DeMar DeRozan and Lonzo Ball to play with Zach LaVine, creating an exciting Big 3 in the East.

However, Ball’s injuries and the lack of consistency from their other stars have ruined their chances to be competitive.

The former Los Angeles Lakers player remains a solid point guard with a high basketball IQ, but if he can’t play, none of that helps the Bulls.

Chicago has been mentioned in a series of rumors suggesting they could part ways with one of DeRozan and LaVine, and now Ball could join that group.
