The NBA’s Rookie Of The Year Has Made A Big Announcement

It’s officially the dawn of a new era for the Orlando Magic.

They’ve added plenty of special players over the past couple of years, but it’s more than evident that Paolo Banchero stands alone among the rest of the pack.

Now, following his stellar rookie campaign, the young combo forward is now striving to take the world scene by storm as well.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Banchero has committed to play for Team USA’s national team at the upcoming FIBA World Cup in the Philippines.

Orlando’s Paolo Banchero – the NBA’s Rookie of the Year – has committed to play for Team USA’s national team at the FIBA World Cup in the Philippines this summer, sources tell me and @joevardon.

Banchero will now follow the steps of many NBA legends that came before him.

He drew plenty of comparisons to Carmelo Anthony before entering the league, and Anthony was one of the greatest players in Team USA history, so it only makes sense he keeps that torch lit.

Banchero ran away with Rookie of the Year honors, and barring injury, he should be one of the most improved and impressive players in the league in his second season.

That experience with Team USA, getting to work with elite coaches and alongside some of the best hoopers on Earth, will give him a big boost to his already rapid development, living up to his status as the No. 1 pick in that talented NBA Draft class.

The Magic added some more impressive young talent to their roster with Anthony Black and Jett Howard.

That core with Banchero, Franz Wagner, Wendell Carter Jr., Jalen Suggs, and even Cole Anthony could be special for years to come.
