The Cincinnati Bengals lost their most important player mid-game in one of the most crucial matchups of the season.
The fans were disheartened to see that Joe Burrow couldn’t finish the game after suffering a wrist injury.
However, it may not have been much of a surprise to the Bengals’ coaching staff, as Burrow was spotted wearing a soft brace on his wrist on Wednesday night in a now-deleted pic shared by the franchise.
That’s why, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the NFL is reportedly set to investigate why the Bengals didn’t list Burrow on the injury report before the game.

The league takes those matters of compliance with the Injury Report policy quite seriously, and teams could be fined or even stripped of a draft pick for failure to comply with it.
Burrow was in clear pain and discomfort when he left the field, and while the extent of the injury may not be as serious as it originally seemed, it seems like the Bengals may have known about this beforehand.
Burrow has already made it loud and clear that he’s not about missing games, and the Bengals evidently needed their best player on the field if they wanted to have a chance to take down arguably the best team in the AFC.
But a team should never expose a player or put him in harm’s way if they know they’re injured.
This is a physical sport and it doesn’t take a lot to get hurt or aggravate an injury.
