The New York Yankees have been a failure this season.
There is no reason to sugarcoat it because the fans in New York certainly have not.
Coming into the year many people saw the Yankees as a potential World Series team.
They signed Carlos Rodon to bolster their rotation along with bringing back Aaron Judge on a massive nine-year contract.
Yet, it appears none of those moves mattered because they cannot keep their best players on the field.
Both Rodon and Judge have missed an excessive amount of time this season.
Before the season, FanGraphs projected the Yankees to have 90 wins.
According to Codify, to reach that number they will have to go 19-0 the rest of the way.

Taking out the COVID-shortened 2020 season, the Yankees have not won fewer than 90 games since 2016.
That was also the last season they did not make the playoffs.
Interestingly enough the Yankees have not had a losing record since the 1992 season.
That streak is in serious jeopardy this year as the Yankees sit at 71-72 with only a few weeks left.
Many people who have watched the Yankees this season know their roster is not good enough.
Just like last season, they rely too heavily on Judge to carry them offensively.
He has been on the injured list twice this year with toe and hip injuries.
Not being able to score in his absence has been a major issue.
The only bright spot on the Yankees has been starting pitcher Gerrit Cole, who has lived up to his major contract.
He will most likely win his first Cy Young award this season.
But, only one player living up to expectations is a reason why the Yankees are in last place in the AL East.
