Timberwolves Agree To One-Year Deal With Veteran Forward

Heading into the 2023-24 NBA season, the Minnesota Timberwolves were considered to be a talented young team with a lot of promise, as they had a bonafide superstar in the making leading the way in Anthony Edwards, playing alongside stars Rudy Gobert and Karl-Anthony Towns.

With the previous season ending in disaster with players going at one another and the team potentially on the verge of making another blockbuster trade to right the ship, no one expected them to make the kind of jump that they did during the 2023-24 campaign.

The Timberwolves turned out to be one of the best all-around teams in the league and were able to stay atop the Western Conference, bouncing back and forth with another talented young team in the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Unfortunately, the Timberwolves’ playoff run ended in the Western Conference Finals, as they couldn’t contend with Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks.

However, the future is bright in Minnesota with Edwards leading the way, and the team added another piece to the puzzle on Wednesday, bringing in veteran forward Joe Ingles, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Although Ingles isn’t the solid role player he once was while he was playing for the Utah Jazz a few years ago, he still might be able to make an impact in Minnesota while bringing some veteran experience and some scoring off the bench.

In 68 games last season playing for the Orlando Magic, Ingles averaged 4.4 points, 3.0 assists and 2.1 rebounds per game, shooting 43.6% from the field and 43.5% from beyond the arc.
