For years, the NBA claimed to be ‘where amazing happens.’

Seasons go by, and that motto has never stopped being true.

You can never count a team or a player out, especially not at this point in the season, and the Indiana Pacers found that out the hard way in Game 1.

Just when it seemed like they had stormed right back to pull off a huge upset, Rick Carlisle’s team found itself on the wrong end of an epic play.

Following a turnover, Jaylen Brown knocked down a huge corner three to even things up and force overtime.

Then, the Celtics handled business and survived a major scare by securing the win.

That’s why Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young reminded everybody that NBA games aren’t truly over until they’re over.

He should know a thing or two about that, as he’s had his fair share of epic shots and game-winners throughout the course of his brief career.

The Celtics are the most stacked team in the league, but they still need to stay focused, as they have a worrisome tendency to just mail games in and clock out after jumping to big leads, and that’s not going to get the job done.

As for the Pacers, Rick Carlisle should face some heat for some of his late-game decision-making, and it just seems like they lost this game more than the Celtics won it.

If there’s a silver lining here, it might be that the Pacers proved to be way more competitive than oddsmakers, analysts, and even some fans thought.
