The 13-10 Minnesota Twins are currently, as of Tuesday afternoon, leading the AL Central division ahead of the Cleveland Guardians.
That record might not look all that impressive, but it’s still good and it could get better with time due to the Twins’ impressive rotation.
Joe Ryan and Pablo Lopez are both having breakout seasons, Tyler Mahle is a solid mid-rotation option, and Kenta Maeda should be good with health.
They also have Bailey Ober waiting for his turn.
The best of them all, however, has been Sonny Gray.
The Twins made sure to highlight him on social media as he carved out the lineup of his former team, the New York Yankees, on Monday night.

Indeed, Gray’s 0.62 ERA in 29 innings currently leads the junior circuit, just ahead of Los Angeles Angels star Shohei Ohtani and his 0.64 mark.
Gray has been nothing short of amazing this season.
On Monday, he pitched seven shutout frames against the Yankees to lift his team to the victory.
He made use of a very good cutter and mixed it in with his excellent secondaries.
The hapless Yankees offense had no answer for him.
Gray is already up to 1.2 fWAR, which is FanGraphs’ version of Wins Above Replacement.
His 2.11 Fielding Independent Pitching (FIP) is one of the best marks in the American League, as are his 34 strikeouts.
With the veteran right-hander leading the way, the Twins look destined to fight for a spot in the postseason, just like they were supposed to last year.
This year’s staff is looking better and more consistent, though, so if the offense follows their lead, they will be playing in October.
