The Minnesota Vikings were a dominant football team during the 2022 NFL regular season, with the team losing only four games, finishing atop the NFC North to win the division title.
However, the team was somewhat exposed once the playoffs got underway, with veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins and company falling to the New York Giants at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minnesota.
The 13-4 regular-season record seemed like a fluke after that poor playoff performance against the Giants, which led to speculation about what the team may do with Cousins.
According to Vikings general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, the team remains committed to Cousins and even drafted a wide receiver in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft, bringing in Jordan Addison to pair with superstar Justin Jefferson downfield.

With so much talent on the offensive side of the football, there won’t be any excuses for Cousins if the team fails in the playoffs again next season, which could lead to a change at the quarterback position.
Although the Detroit Lions are a team on the rise, the NFC North division could be the Vikings’ to lose for the next few years after the Green Bay Packers traded superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets recently.
Minnesota’s championship window is open, with no clear-cut favorite or dominant team in the NFC outside of the Philadelphia Eagles, who lost quite a few players during this NFL offseason.
That said, Cousins will be under tremendous pressure next season to produce and finally achieve some postseason success.
