For the second year in a row, the Brooklyn Nets didn’t get much out of Ben Simmons this season.
The former number one draft pick only played in 15 games this season due to injuries, averaging only 6.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 5.7 assists.
Throughout the NBA fanbase, there have been many concerns and fears about Simmons and his future, with some people calling on Brooklyn to waive him and leave him behind.
But the Nets aren’t making that choice, according to Brian Lewis of The New York Post, via NBACentral.
He is reporting that the Nets are “not giving up on Ben Simmons and intend to keep him on the roster for next season.”

Back problems kept Simmons on the sidelines all year again this season.
The 27-year-old star last played on February 26, when he scored just 4 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists against the Memphis Grizzlies.
Simmons was once one of the hottest young stars in the league but many problems have held him back recently.
A few seasons ago, he sat out for months when he was still with the Philadelphia 76ers, attempting to be traded from the team.
He eventually got his wish and moved to the Nets, but his luck has continued to be bad.
Simmons has only played in 57 games with the Nets as numerous injuries have flared up and recovery has been very slow.
The Nets have been attempting to find a new identity in a post-Kevin Durant, post-Kyrie Irving era, and it was thought that Simmons would be a huge part of that.
But he hasn’t been able to deliver on his talent and the team has been in a holding pattern.
It sounds like they will continue to wait.
They clearly have a lot of faith in the star player, but will he ever redeem himself and play like he used to?
