The Cleveland Cavaliers are searching for their new head coach after the firing of J.B. Bickerstaff.
So far, there have been numerous names tossed around as possible replacements but one is getting more attention than others.
On ESPN Cleveland, Aaron Goldhammer stated his case for Kenny Atkinson.
Goldhammer said that Atkinson has the right sort of experience, especially because of his last few years as an assistant coach for the Golden State Warriors.
Although the Cavaliers and Warriors used to be bitter rivals, Goldhammer admits that they are a good organization and an especially strong offensive one.

Atkinson got his start as an assistant coach for the New York Knicks and then the Atlanta Hawks.
Following that, he spent four seasons as the head coach of the Brooklyn Nets, before moving back into assistant coach positions.
He has helped the Los Angeles Clippers and Warriors over the last few years and is a well-respected coach for a number of reasons.
If Atkinson can bring what he’s learned from these various teams, especially the Warriors, the Cavaliers could be in good shape.
They want to be an offensively impressive and dominant team and they have the pieces to make that happen.
Even if the roster changes a bit in the summer, the Cavaliers should be one of the more powerful offensive teams in the East, especially if Donovan Mitchell remains.
Atkinson could be the key to making that happen.
The Cavaliers will continue their search and they won’t rest until they have made the right choice.
Will it be Atkinson or someone else and what other adjustments will the Cavaliers make?
This summer could be very consequential for the team.
