The Minnesota Timberwolves need their leader if they want to stand a chance to win this series.

Anthony Edwards hasn’t been his usual self over the past three games, most likely due to exhaustion, although he’s also been tightly guarded by Jason Kidd’s team.

The former No. 1 pick was on a tear to start the postseason and even drew comparisons to Michael Jordan.

Now, he’s not doing much on offense to help his team.

As shown by NBA on ESPN on Twitter, Edwards is currently going through the worst three-game shooting span of his career, going just 17 of 57 from the floor (29.8%).

Edwards talked a lot about trash on his way here, so it’s only normal for some fans to demand that he back it up on the court.

We all know how special he is on both ends of the floor and what he’s capable of, and that’s why it feels like he’s leaving plenty to be desired.

Of course, banking all your hopes on a 22-year-old might not be the wisest decision, and Karl-Anthony Towns deserves as much of the blame and the criticism — if not more — for failing to step up and take matters into his own hands as their veteran co-star.

Whatever the case, exhaustion and tired legs shouldn’t be an excuse at this point in the season, as all players are banged up and tired in the Conference Finals.

Things don’t look good for the Timberwolves right now, and they won’t be able to overcome this without Edwards.
