Not so long ago, Jabari Parker was considered to be one of the elite NBA prospects.
In another universe, in an alternate reality, he would’ve won an NBA championship alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo and could’ve even been the Milwaukee Bucks’ franchise player.
Unfortunately for him, injuries always stood in the way of his progress, up to the point where he wasn’t even a part of the league anymore.
Recently, he went viral for breaking down in tears after being asked about his first year playing basketball overseas (via Legion Hoops).

With that in mind, he wanted to clear the air and make it loud and clear that it wasn’t about him not wanting to be there, but about gratitude, adding that he wasn’t sure whether he would be able to play again and that he found his love for the game again with FC Barcelona (Via Marc Mundet).

Parker is now playing in arguably the second or third-best basketball league in the world, and there should be no shame in that.
If anything, props to him for pushing and grinding to continue his dream and basketball career, even if he’s had to take an alternate route.
He may or may not get another opportunity to play in the NBA, but no one can take away all the hard work he’s put in.
Parker will go down as one of the biggest ‘what ifs’ in NBA history, and another example of why it takes much more than just talent and physical traits to make it in the Association.
