The National Football League keeps making piles and piles of money every single year, and that’s not going to change any time soon.

If anything, chances are the league will only stay growing and becoming more profitable by the season.

That’s not a surprise, as that’s been Roger Goodell’s vision for quite a while.

The game is reaching new corners and the league is taking games to new places, and that trend should only continue for years to come.

As a matter of fact, NFL insider Adam Schefter recently predicted that, on top of more streaming partners and an 18-game season, the league will eventually come to a point in which every single team will have at least one international game per year (via Warren Sharp).

Schefter on the NFL’s future:

In addition to more streaming and an 18 game season…

“I think we’re going to eventually have one international game for EVERY TEAM, PER YEAR”

The league has had yearly games in London for years now, and they also had games in Germany last season.

The NFL will take its operations to Brazil for the first time ever this season as well, and there will be more emerging markets.

The 18-game schedule seems bound to happen at some point, even if that means taking one preseason game away or adding an additional bye week, as some players have proposed.

Football is a physical sport, and unlike other sports, the wear and tear it takes on the players is a factor to consider when making these kinds of plans.

However, with all the money that will come their way for these kinds of arrangements, there’s not so much the players will be able — or willing — to do to prevent this from happening.
