For the past three years or so, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been in sole control of the NFC South.
However, that might no longer be the case going forward.
While Baker Mayfield was quite solid last season, he might face some steep competition in 2024.
The Atlanta Falcons are going to be much improved with Raheem Morris and Kirk Cousins, and they should be the leading candidate to snatch the divisional pennant from them.
Nonetheless, sports analyst Craig Carton likes the New Orleans Saints’ chances better.
Talking on “The Carton Show,” he predicted that they would win the NFC South.

He admitted that there’s no reason to be a big fan of Saints QB Derek Carr, given the fact that he’s had zero success in the playoffs.
Still, he’s a fan of his game, and that’s why he gives them the nod.
Perhaps that’s not the most thorough analysis, but the Saints should have a legitimate chance.
The NFC South should be up for grabs, as it’s full of borderline playoff teams trying to make a name for themselves — and the Carolina Panthers.
The Saints have a stout defense, and their offense should fare better with a new offensive coordinator.
Even so, it’s kind of hard to put them against the Buccaneers, who have been the team to beat in the division in recent years, or even ahead of the Falcons, who boast the most talent in the division and will finally have a good and proven quarterback behind center.
