For much of the 2011-12 NBA season, all basketball fans were blown away by “Linsanity.”

That was a period of time when Jeremy Lin of the New York Knicks was playing phenomenal basketball and gaining a legion of fans.

Speaking on “7PM In Brooklyn,” Knicks legend Carmelo Anthony spoke about this historic chapter for the team.

He said that, despite what some people think, he was very encouraging of Lin and was happy to see Linsanity take over the nation.

He also attempted to help the young NBA star earn money because of his fame, although Lin turned Anthony down when he tried to assist him with making deals.

Joined by Baron Davis, Anthony said that Lin had the chance to make at least $100 million because of his success and newfound fame.

But Lin didn’t agree to any endorsements or big sponsorships because he said he wasn’t brought up that way.

Anthony is probably right when he says that Lin could have made a fortune during that time.

His name was everywhere and he brought a lot of attention to the Knicks.

Seemingly overnight, he became a household name and his future seemed wildly bright.

But after his stay with the Knicks, things were never the same for Lin.

He bounced around to multiple teams, including the Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers, and Brooklyn Nets.

He would eventually win a championship with the Toronto Raptors in 2019 but then left the NBA.

Lin’s time with the NBA is over but Linsanity remains a special moment in NBA and Knicks history.

And despite some rumors, Anthony was a big fan of it.
